Suspect takes drugs to court

Curtis M Arrington age 48 Dallas, Texas Poss with intent to deliver

HOPE – There are times when people behave in a manner that makes others scratch their heads.

Curtis Arrington, of Dallas, was in court on Sept. 11, at 5:10 p.m. when his bond was revoked.

Once bond was revoked, Arrington was taken into custody and searched by a deputy with the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office. What was found almost defies belief.

According to a report from the HCSO, Deputy Michael Braddock found a cigarette box in Arrington’s right front pants pocket. The box reportedly contained a clear baggie with a straightened paper clip. One end of the clip was twisted around the bag. Inside the bag, the report states, were 10 other smaller bags, nine of them containing a clear, crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine. The remaining bag contained a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The suspected meth was weighted on uncalibrated scales which registered 5.7 grams. The suspected marijuana weighed about 0.2 grams.

Arrington was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Center where he was charged with possession with purpose to deliver methamphetamine. He is currently being held in the HC Jail awaiting his first appearance on this charge.
