Doris L. Williams

Doris L. Williams, daughter of the late Mr. E. D. Douglas and Hesterly (Pride) Douglas, was born on October 27, 1939 in Prescott, Arkansas. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

 

Doris lived in Chicago, Illinois for many years before returning to Hope, Arkansas. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Medical Park Hospital prior to retiring.

 

Doris was an active member at Beebe Memorial CME Church before becoming a cofounder and active member of Straight and Narrow Path Ministry Church.

 

 

Over the years, Doris had many hobbies. She tried her hand at making homemade wine. She enjoyed sewing, singing and playing the piano. She loved receiving earrings as gifts and had a collection that any woman would have been envious of. She cherished the time she spent with her great-grandchildren, one of whom she enjoyed coffee with every morning.

 

Doris had the opportunity to travel to Spain, Italy, and Antigua in the West Indies.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Elvan David Douglas.

 

Doris leaves behind one son Ray L. DiNovo of Prattville, Alabama; three daughters Donna L Weise (James) of Winfield, Illinois, Robin L. Lee of Dumfries, Virginia, and Melissa R. White of Hope, Arkansas; one brother Dr. W. LaDell Douglas (Elaine) of Hope, Arkansas; seven grandchildren Jerome Heard, Ashley Dennis, Anthony Lee, Ashton Dennis, Brandon Lee, Caleb Weise, and Trevor Weise; three great-grandchildren Ayden Dennis, Aarie Cox, and Kash Cox; one niece Yolanda Douglas; one nephew Ethan Douglas; two great-nephews Aidan Douglas, Julian Douglas; four great-nieces Alyssa Douglas, Alexandria Douglas, Alivia Douglas, and Evan Douglas; also a special grandson Henry Phillips, and a host of relatives and friends.
