Hempstead County Sheriffs Office Hosts Ranch Rodeo

HOPE- The Hempstead County Sheriffs Office hosted their first Ranch Rodeo. The event took place on September 28, in the coliseum at the Hope Fair Park during the Southwest District Fair.
The rodeo was hosted as a fundraiser for the Operation Christmas and Shop with a Deputy Program. The Santa Cop program is a way for the officers to help the kids in our community receive a Christmas. The families that are chosen for the Santa Cop program are nominated by the Hope Police Department officers.
The teams competed in three events; wild cow milking, team roping, and tie down roping. With ten teams of four team members, The Miles High team came out with first place winning and the 4C Team came out with second winning $640.
