The Hope Kiwanis Club has a New President

The Hope Kiwanis Club has a new President. Nathaniel “Peaches” Holyfield has been installed as President for the coming year. Holyfield works for the city of Hope and grew up in Hope. At the Kiwanis meeting Tuesday September 26th, Holyfield received the gavel from outgoing President Bill Barham. A few weeks previous, Holyfield and Barham completed the “passing of the spatula”, a ritual only practiced in the Hope Kiwanis Club during the club’s annual Pancake supper. Incidentally, Kiwanian Dennis Ramsey has been researching the pancake supper and reports it goes back to at least 1961.
