Theft of property, carrying a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Sunday, October 8, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Deputy Reyn Brown received a call from Sgt. Oller with the Hope Police Department in reference to him seeing a subject, Aaran Daniel’s, who had a felony warrant from the Hempstead County Sheriff’s office. Sgt. Oller advised he was making contact with Daniels at 706 E. Short 6th Street, in Hope.
Deputy Brown arrived shortly after Sgt. Oller made contact with Daniels. Deputy Brown confirmed the active warrant and Daniels was placed under arrest for a felony theft of property warrant. After placing Daniels in hand restraints, Deputy Brown began to search his person for weapons and contraband. In his left pants pocket Deputy Brown located a clear bag containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana.
Sgt. Oller walked over to the driver’s side window of Daniels’ vehicle and observed a handgun sticking out from under the driver’s seat. Sgt. Oller knew he was only 18 as well. Sgt. Oller immediately took possession of the weapon. The handgun was a 9MM pistol with a stainless-steel slide and turquoise colored frame. The handgun had 14 unspent 9MM rounds inside the magazine and one unspent round inside the chamber and ready to fire. Once the handgun was safe, Sgt. Oller had the police dispatcher conduct a query on the handgun and it revealed that the handgun was stolen. During a search of the vehicle, Sgt. Oller located a pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana. Deputies determined that the handgun was stolen from a burglary on Hempstead 15 on September 22.
Daniels asked if he could go inside the residence and turn the stove off, because the girl he was staying with left some food cooking for him. Deputy Brown took him inside the residence and the stove was not on and nothing was cooking. While walking back toward the door, Deputy Brown observed a black digital scale sitting on a small table with what appeared to be marijuana residue on it. Daniels stated it was his for personal use. The scale was confiscated at that time.
Daniels was transported to the HCDF where he was charged with theft of property, carrying a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was turned over to the on-duty jail staff for booking. He will be held for 1st court appearance.

Prior to this, officers received information that there were narcotics inside his residence.
Deputies were aware both Johnny Turner and Williams were on active supervision with the probation/parole office. Deputies contacted the supervisor with the Arkansas Community Corrections Probation/Parole. And advised him of the situation and what officers were advised regarding narcotic activity prior to our arrival. The supervisor advised that both Turner and Williams have a warrantless search waiver on file and to conduct a search of their property based on that waiver, but an officer would come out as well.
