Two charged with possession, weapons

HOPE – Jennifer,38, and Kalafonzia Pugh, 38, both of Hope, were arrested on charges of possession with purpose to deliver and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

According to a release from the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, the two were arrested at noon on Halloween. The arrest was made in conjunction with the South-Central Drug Task Force, HCSO, Hope Police Department and Arkansas State Police Special Agents.

The officers seized around 100 grams of a substance believed to be crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, digital scales, three firearms, an AR-15, LLC 223 handgun, and a Smith and Wesson Air Weight revolver, along with a CZ semiautomatic 7.62mm handgun, an AR-type dual drum clip with 50 lives rounds of .223 caliber ammunition and a box of 7.62 ammo.

The two were taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and are awaiting their first court appearance. They are expected to be charged with possession with purpose to deliver cocaine, a Class A felony, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession of drug paraphernalia with purpose to manufacture.
