Mr. P. J. Harvel

Mr. P. J. Harvel, age 81 of Spring Hill, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in Hope. He was born in Spring Hill, Arkansas on May 19, 1936 to Phil and Nora Henderson Harvel. He was employed as a Yard Foreman at Split Hickory for 20 plus years and retired from Davis Discount Lumber Company, after 30 plus years as Yard Foreman a US Army Veteran and a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Spring Hill, where he was a deacon. P.J. enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing, hunting, playing basketball and calling the Hogs. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Doyle and Estell Harvel and four sisters, Essie Lee Harvel McBay, Donna Harvel Smith, Bonnie Harvel Ward, Betty Harvel Binge.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Harvel of Spring Hill, a daughter Becky Ogburn husband, Ricky of Spring Hill, brother, Donnie Harvel and wife, Sandra of Odessa, Texas, sister Sue Harvel Webb and husband, Larry of Forrest City, AR, grand-daughter, Amber Mackey and husband Eric, grandson, Derek Rhodes and wife Lisa, great-daughters: Alana King, Kristina King, and Emma Rhodes other family members and friends.

Visitation is 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home 1001 South Main.

Funeral service is Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 2:00pm in Bethany Baptist Church in Spring Hill with Bro. Eric Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery in Spring Hill.
