christmas-tree-gifts-clip-artPRESCOTT – This is a busy time of the year for the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce as the holidays are rapidly approaching.

The first holiday related event will be held Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Potlatch Building. It’s the Business Consumer Expo, which took over from the Christmas Open House program a few years ago. Businesses will bring out their holiday ware to show the public and let everyone know what’s available locally for the holidays.

The Christmas Business Decorating Contest will be judged on Dec. 5, starting at 1 p.m. However, the winners won’t be announced until Dec. 7 as part of the Christmas Parade, which will begin at 6 p.m. and Christmas on the Square, which follows immediately after the parade. The theme of this year’s parade is “Santa’s Workshop”.

This will be followed on Dec. 9 by the annual Breakfast with Santa event at the Potlatch Building. This will be held from 9-11 a.m. The entry fee will again be a canned food donation.
