Retired Sergeant Hebbard “Heb” Sorrells

Retired Sergeant Hebbard “Hebb” Sorrells, a Nevada County Sheriff Deputy, of Emmet, Arkansas passed away, Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home at the age of 67. Hebb was born in Dallas, Texas on June 22, 1950 to James Elmer and Sarah Bernice Scribner Sorrells and was a member of First Baptist Church in Prescott. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Elmer and Sarah Bernice Sorrells and a step-daughter Bobbi “BJ” Caraway.

Hebb was a US Marine Corp veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He served the United Nations, Interpol, as Chief of Security Monitoring and Chief of Prevention of Torture and In Humane Services. He retired from a twenty-year career in law enforcement. He was a Sergeant for the Hope Police Department and retired as a Sergeant for the Nevada County Sheriff’s Department.  Hebb had a multitude of friends locally, nationally and internationally. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Sorrells of Emmet, daughter Jamie Ryckman and grandson Jacob Morris of San Diego, California, two step-daughters Staci Helms, husband Jason of Hope, Sherri Grzeczkowsk of San Diego, two brothers Wayne Sorrells, wife Jerrita of Rosston, Scott Wall, wife Joann of San Diego, one niece Marci Wall and nephew Travis Wall both of San Diego, sister-in-law Cathy McCoy of Galveston, TX. He had five step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren. He was blessed with a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins who were very close and grew up as brother and sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at BRAZZEL/Cornish Funeral Home 1196 Hwy. 371 Prescott, AR.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at BRAZZEL/Cornish Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Johnson, Bro. Frank Henson and Bro. Neil Ridling officiating.  Burial will be in Snell Cemetery in Emmet. Arrangements are with BRAZZEL/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director.
