BREAKFAST WITH SANTA 006PRESCOTT – Hundreds of youngsters flocked to the Potlatch Building Saturday morning for Breakfast with Santa.

Community volunteers and members of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as showed up to work the event, along with members of the Prescott Police Department. Breakfast consisted of juice, muffins, banana halves and doughnuts, along with coffee for the bigger children. Youngsters visited with Santa Claus, letting him know they’d been good and what they want for Christmas this year.

Children also colored “swag bags” to use to carry the reindeer food they made, the jingle bell necklaces and coloring sheets they’d done, along with the cookies they’d decorated and prizes they won. Letters filled Santa’s mailbox as the children wrote to the jolly old elf just to make sure he didn’t forget what they’d asked for. While gift boxes were made up for the children, not all collected them when they left the event. Jamie Hillery, Chamber director, said the gift boxes not taken will be distributed to needy children in the community and county. Hundreds of cans of food were collected for the food pantry as well.
