“Members of the Hope Noon and Evening Lions Clubs delivered 126 baskets of food to Hempstead County families this week. Boxes of food included chicken, canned vegetables, fresh fruit and sweet potatoes, baking supplies, sugar, candy, cooking oil, fresh rolls, eggs, and other staple foods. The Hope Evening Lions provided a special addition this year – toys for young children in the homes. Funding of this annual project is provided by the proceeds of the annual Lions Christmas Auction and the Hope Lions Clubs sincerely express their deep appreciation to local merchants and individuals who support that event.”
