Charles L. “Buddy” Allen

Charles L. “Buddy” Allen, 89, of Gurdon, Arkansas passed away Wednesday January 3^rd, 2018 at Courtyard Gardens Health and Rehabilitation in Arkadelphia, AR

Buddy was born August 10^th, 1928 to Charlie and Elsie (Eakin) Allen in Gurdon, AR, He worked on the railroad, managed a Ford dealership, and retired from Reynolds Metal Company. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Gurdon.

Buddy led a versatile life.  He was a sailor (Merchant Marine), Pilot (Civil Air Patrol), Camper and fisherman, an Ardent Razorback Fan and “Road Hog” member.  He loved interacting with people especially family and friends.                                           

Buddy is preceded in death by his wife Emogene (Hasley) Allen of 69 years, his parents and two brothers Bob and Billy Allen.

Buddy is survived by a son, James R. (Karen) Allen of Hot Springs, AR and one daughter, Marianne (Paul) Roe of Arkadelphia, AR, two sisters, Linda McCree of North Little Rock, AR and Pat Talley of Gurdon, AR, four grandchildren, Jennilyn (Brandon) Stone, Brooks (Amy) Allen, Chris (Shelly) Roe, Sarah (Steve) Reagin, great grandchildren: Trevor (Cady), Shelby, Audrey, Landon, Matt, Cami and Taylor; and one great-great grandchild Rylee Kate.

Visitation will be: Friday January 5^th, 2018 from 6:00P.M-8:00P.M.

Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Chapel.

Service will be: Saturday January 6^th, 2018 at 11:00A.M. under the direction of Bro. Toby Talley and Bro. Donnie Hudson at

First United Methodist Church of Gurdon, AR

Interment will follow in: Rose Hedge Cemetery, Gurdon, AR
