HPD investigating robbery at Powell’s Grocery

HOPE – On January 11, at approximately 9:20 a.m., officers of the Hope Police Department received a call in reference to a robbery that had just occurred at Terry Powell Grocery located in the 300 block of East Greenwood Street, in Hope.

Upon arrival, officers learned an unknown black male entered the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded money. The suspect left the store and ran north on North Hazel street.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing about 250 lbs. He was wearing white pants, a white hoodie with gray colored striped print near the top of the hoodie. The suspect hid his face with a dark colored covering that was red at the bottom.
