Snow – no joke for public

PRESCOTT – Snow closed all schools in Nevada County Tuesday, along with all city and county governments and many businesses.

While it presented a pastoral image, it also posed hazards for motorists as the streets froze over and became icy where they’d been driven over and slush created. Those who had to be out and about drove slowly.

Weather reports called for a slight chance of snow until noon Tuesday, but temperatures weren’t expected to rise above freezing and were predicted to plummet into the teens Tuesday night, which would mean worsened icy conditions Wednesday.
