Ghormley promoted to sergeant

HOPE – Jennifer Ghormley, a 5½ year veteran of the Hope Police Department Patrol Division, was promoted to Patrol Sergeant on January 17.

She is a graduate of the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy holding a General Law Enforcement Certificate in the State of Arkansas. She has earned 33 collegiate hours from Southern Arkansas University and has attended more than 435 continuing law enforcement education hours post academy. Significant training includes constitutional policing, tactical de-escalation, domestic violence, racial profiling, mental health first-aid, and certified field trainer.  Sergeant Ghormley was a member of the Armed Services from 2007-2015 serving in the U.S. Army Reserves 602nd Military Police Company. She is a former corrections officer with the Hempstead County Detention Facility and former member of the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police Honor Guard.

Officer Ghormley was selected as a 2016 SW Arkansas Regional Officer of the year by the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office for her involvement in the apprehension of an aggravated bank robbery suspect.  She is the recipient of other commendations and awards.
