NCSO, Prosecutor’s Office conduct Anti-Bullying seminar

ROSSTON – The Nevada County Sheriff’s Department along with the Eighth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s Office conducted an Anti-Bullying class at the Nevada School Thursday, February 15.

Chief Deputy Larry Miller, Investigator Robert Missey along with Prosecuting Attorney Christi McQueen instructed approximately 190 students from Kindergarten to the sixth grade on defining what bullying is, how to identify it and whom to report it to. Several videos were shown along with the presentation that included McGruff the crime dog along with an Anti-bullying video from Sesame Street.

McQueen emphasized on the importance of reporting bullying along with any other possible abuse to the proper authorities and assured everyone that it would be dealt with promptly.

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Department and the Prosecuting Attorney’s office works closely with the Nevada School District in attempting to keep children as safe as possible.
