Citizen, Hero nomination time

CITIZENPRESCOTT – This year’s Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Banquet has been set for 5:30 p.m. April 26, at the Prescott High School Cafeteria.

This year’s theme is “Farm Fresh”. However, before that, nominations are being sought for Citizen of the Year and Hometown Hero of the Year.

The qualifications for Citizen of the Year are as follows: any Nevada County resident can submit a nomination. The nominee must be a resident of the county. The nomination must also include the reason this person should be considered, and must be in writing.

A selection committee will judge the nominations according to the following criteria: outstanding service to – family, city, county, state, church related, fraternal, recreational, industrial and educationally oriented services.

The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday. March 2. They can be mailed to the Chamber at P.O. Box 443 – 125 E. Main, Prescott, AR 71857.

For Hometown Hero, the deadline and address to send nominations is the same as for the Citizen of the Year.

However, the criteria is a bit different. Any county resident can submit a nomination and the nominee must be a county resident or have represented the nation in a division of the military. The reason for the nomination must be in writing.
