Scholarship 5K a success

SCHOLARSHIP 5K 006PRESCOTT – Cool temperatures didn’t stop runners from gathering on Elm Street for the YEE (You Earn Everything) Scholarship 5K run Saturday morning.

The  run was sponsored by Maribel and Gregg Britton, who’ve been thinking about it for a few years and decided it was time. All proceeds from the run go toward a scholarship for a Prescott High School senior.

Crystal-like trophies went to the top finishers while engraved stemware was presented to other top finishers in the different age divisions.

The weather for the run couldn’t have been better with sunny skies and temperatures slowly warming up into the 70s later in the day. It took less than 21 minutes for the first runner to cross the finish line.
