Suspicious Person 

At approximately 2229 hours on May 3, HCSO was dispatched to 165 Hempstead 1415 in reference to a suspicious person.

Deputies searched the area but we were unable to locate any sign of anyone having been near the house.

Trespassing

On May 4, at approximately 1522 hours, HCSO was dispatch to 4160 Highway 371 East regarding trespassing.

Deputy advised the three persons they were committing a crime by being on the property.   The three left the property without incident.

Fire

On May 4, at approximately 1701 hours, HCSO was dispatched to a fire at 408 Hempstead 52.

Upon arrival Deputies observed that the camper set up at the above-named address was fully engulfed in flames.

Southeast Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene and put the fire out. Hope Water and Light arrived and disconnected the electricity to the residence.  The residence did have a patio type extension to it. The patio was partially burned. the rest of the residence was a total loss.

Felony Warrant for Theft of Property/ Possession of Marijuana

On 05/04/18 at approximately 1515 hours, HCSO Deputies Arrested Brian Moore, 34, of Hope, Arkansas on a felony warrant for theft of property and Possession of Marijuana. He was transported to the HCDF to await a first Court Appearance.

Civil Dispute

On Saturday, May 5, at approximately 0740 hours, HCSO received a call from the police dispatcher in reference to a civil dispute, located at 141 Hempstead 192, in Hempstead County, Arkansas. Deputies arrived to find the dispute had been settled.

Sexual Assault of a Minor

On Saturday, May 5, at approximately 1430 hours, HCSO received a call from the police dispatcher in reference to a sexual assault of a six-year-old female, located in Hempstead County, Arkansas. The incident is under investigation.

Vandalism

On 05/05/18 at approximately 1604 hours. HCSO was dispatched to Hempstead 217 in reference to a window being broke at a residence.

Upon arrival Deputy made contact with the caller who stated she has a small break in her bedroom window, and in her back-bathroom window. Victim stated her windows was not broken on Thursday. Upon Investigation there was no evidence of entry into the residence.

Alarm Call

On Sunday, May 6, at approximately 0900 hours, HCSO received a call from the police dispatcher in reference to an alarm call, located on Highway 67 W, in Hempstead County.

Deputy arrived at the residence and did not locate anybody. Deputy Checked all the doors and windows and everything appeared to be secure.

Possession of Controlled Substance

On Sunday, May 6, at approximately 1115 hours, Dillon Kennedy, 20, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and controlled substance Alprazolam.

Burglary

On Sunday, May 6, at approximately 1145 hours, HCSO received a call from the police dispatcher in reference to a burglary, located on Highway 29 S, in Hempstead County.

Upon arrival Deputy met with the female victim who stated the following, that she noticed items in her residence were tossed around and taken from the residence. Victim stated there was several items taken including jewelry, electronics, tools and other items. The burglary is under investigation by HCSO.

Welfare Check

On 05/05/18 at approximately 2335 hours, HCSO was dispatched to Hope in Action #2 at 2500 Hwy 67 West in reference to a welfare check. Dispatch advised me that a female caller stated her friend posted a post on Facebook that said, Lord take me now,

A Deputy went to Hope in Action #2 and made contact with the female in question and determined that she was ok. The caller was notified that the female was ok.

Alarm Call

On May 6, at approximately 1948 hours, HCSO was dispatched to 3021 Highway 29 North regarding an Alarm Call.

Upon arrival the property appeared to be secure. The front gate was closed and locked, and the windows and doors on the building were intact. Deputy went over the fence to further check the property. Deputy walked around the building and observed that all windows and doors were intact. Deputy observed that the door leading into the shop area was partially open. Deputy then cleared the building and did not locate anyone inside.

Vandalism

On 05/06/18 at approximately 1855 hours, HCSO was dispatched to 1117 Hwy 195 North in reference to someone damaging a vehicle.

Upon arrival, Deputy made contact with the male and female victims outside of the residence. Who stated that her ex-boyfriend got into an argument, the victim told the ex-boyfriend to leave and not to come back to her residence.

The male victim stated he and the female victim were inside the residence watching TV. when they heard someone drive into the front yard of the residence. Male victim stated he went to the window and saw the ex-boyfriend get out of a green Ford Explorer with a baseball bat and hit both tail lights of his vehicle. then get back in his vehicle and left the residence traveling north on Hwy 195 N.

Deputy observed the broken tail lights to the male victim’s vehicle.  A male suspect has been identified and will be charged with criminal mischief 2nd, damage property, harassment in a public place and criminal trespassing. The incident remains under investigation.

Shots Fired

On 5/6/18 at approximately 2007 hours, HCSO was dispatched the Bingen area to contact a complaint in reference to shots fired by his neighbor.

Deputy contacted caller who stated his neighbor was shooting Deputy went to the neighbors to investigate. Deputy found that the neighbor had built a 3-foot backstop and was firing his gun into the backstop not toward neighbors. Deputy advised the caller that the neighbor had built a backstop was not firing towards his residence.

The Deputy did not see anything unsafe about the backstop used for shooting.

Death Investigation

At approximately 0645 hours on Monday May 7, HCSO was dispatched to 170 Bream Street in reference to a death.

Upon arrival Deputy made contact with the caller who stated that his 45-year-old stepson had been sick. The stepfather stated that he checked on his step son at approximately 2300 hours on Sunday, the stepfather stated when he got up and found William dead this morning.

Pafford Ems arrived and checked 45-year-old who had no vitals. Hempstead Chief Deputy Coroner David Peters called the time of death at 0722 hours and released the body to Herndon Funeral Home. There was no evidence of foul play.

Criminal Mischief

On 5/7/2018 at approximately 0823 hours, HCSO was dispatched to Hempstead 3 in reference to someone cutting an electric fence.

Upon arrival, Deputy made contact with the caller who stated he had someone from Magnolia put an electric fence on his barbwire fence on his fence line. Caller stated he observed his neighbor who owns the property across the fence line yesterday drive his four-wheeler down the fence line on his side. Caller stated that he then checked the fence and observed that the electric fence was cut in two spots.

Deputy asked the caller which side he put the electric fence and he stated that he put the electric fence on the neighbor’s side to keep his cows on his side of the fence. Caller stated that he believes that his neighbor and other people that are neighbors are trying to find a way to buy his place. Caller stated that he did not want to go to court over anything but just wanted the neighbor and his son to know that he is not selling his place anytime soon and did not appreciate them cutting the electric fence.

Aggravated Assault

On 5/7/2018 at approximately 1140 hours, HCSO was dispatched to 4361 Highway 29 South in reference to Stephanie George threatening someone with a knife.

Upon arrival, Deputy made contact with Stephanie who was the only person at the residence. Deputy asked Stephanie what had happened between her and whoever that was there prior to my arrival.

A male witness stated that he walked into the residence and saw Stephanie on the phone with his wife, cursing and yelling at her while she was arguing with another female Witness stated that Stephanie then picked up a knife and put it on the female’s arm. Witness stated that Stephanie then went into the living room and was swinging the knife around and then outside until he and the female victim left the residence.

Deputy placed 20-year-old Stephanie George of Hope, under arrest and transported her to the Hempstead County Detention Center where she is awaiting a first appearance.
