Two charged with possession
PRESCOTT – On Saturday May 5, Deputy Bo Morris and Deputy John Smille were on patrol on Hwy 53 South of Bodcaw. Deputy Morris made a traffic stop on a black Dodge Dakota pickup on Nevada 3 just West of Hwy 53.
Contact was made with the operator identified as Debra Barr from Rosston. Deputy Morris also identified the passenger as Jonathan Miller from Rosston. Deputy Morris ran a check and found Barr had a suspended driver’s license and a valid warrant of arrest out of Nevada County.
Miller showed to have a valid warrant for his arrest out of Hempstead County. Barr also showed to be on probation and had a search waiver on file.
Deputy Morris conducted a search of the vehicle Barr was operating locating a smoking pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana, a container that contained a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a hypodermic needle and a crystal type substance believed to be methamphetamine. All items were located inside a purse identified as belonging to Barr. A bag with items identified as belonging to Barr was located that contained two more hypodermic needles and four prescription pills later identified as Carisoprodol pills.
Miller was searched before being transported locating a homemade pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana on his person.
Both subjects were transported to the Nevada County Detention facility with the vehicle being turned over to a nearby family member.
Barr was charged with possession of a controlled substance namely methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance namely marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Barr is currently being held waiting first appearance on her charges.
Miller was charged for possession of drug paraphernalia and is being held for Hempstead County on their warrants.
