BLEVINS – Good evening friends, family, and faculty. On behalf of the Blevins High School graduating class of 2018, thank you for helping us celebrate not only the end of high school, but also the beginning of a new chapter of our lives.

We have counted down the days all year and it is finally here. This is a bittersweet day because this will be the last time we participate in something as a class, but we are about to embark on our own individual journeys. Today is the day we all sit on this stage and finish the biggest achievement of our lives so far. It seems so unreal that we are graduating. I remember being in the seventh grade and being excited and having more freedom than in elementary school. We were so small compared to everyone else, but we were never scared. We made many great memories like Ragina falling in Mr. Allen’s class.

Freshman year doesn’t feel like it was three years ago. When I think back to that year, the first thing that comes to mind is Ms. Jones’s class. We shared countless laughs in her class, but the memory that sticks out the most to me is Jada having to sit next to her almost everyday for talking so much.

Fast forward to senior year, also known as the fastest year of high school. When people said that it would go by fast, I didn’t believe them. This year was full of stress, tears, and therapy sessions, but most of all good times and great memories. We have endured so much this year, but it was worth it because here we are; in our caps and gowns waiting to receive our diplomas.

After tonight, we will no longer be the small children that cannot handle responsibility, but we are also not expected to know everything as soon as we leave home. These next years are learning years as we experience the world and also some of the best years of our lives. Whether you are going to college, joining the army, or going to work as soon as possible, always remember to relax and take time for yourself.

With that being said, congratulations to the class of 2018. I can’t wait to see what great things the future holds for us. Thank you.
