PRESCOTT – Are you ready to improve your health? Have you decided it is time for you to start exercising regularly? A regular exercise program can help with weight management, reduce diabetes and stroke risk, increase energy levels, and improve overall sense of well-being.

The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service in Nevada County is offering a group fitness program, Extension Get Fit, to help adults increase strength, flexibility, and balance. This 12-week program uses dumbbells resistance bands to improve fitness in a fun and relaxed one-hour class. Sessions will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays at 8 am at the McRae Memorial Gym. The class will be instructed by Shelbi Pinson, County Extension Agent, who has been trained to lead the program.

To participate in the program, you must be 18 years or older. Space is limited, so sign up now by contacting the Nevada County Extension Office at 870-887-2818 or by emailing spinson@uaex.edu.  Shelbi will be at the Community Coffee hosted by McRae Memorial Health and Fitness Center on June 14 at the McRae Gym.
