Jones to speak at Oak Grove reunion
OAK GROVE – Annette Thomas-Jones will be the featured speaker for the Oak Grove reunion.
She is currently serving in the Body of Christ as an Associate Minister and Prison Ministry Director at the Saint Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, under the leadership of Dr. Phillip L. Pointer, Sr.
She received her ministry license in November 2009. She serves on the Little Rock Coordinating Team for Perspectives, a U.S. Center for World Missions Study; as a member of the Advisory Board of the Central Arkansas Community Corrections Center; and as a member of the board of directors of the Brandon House Cultural and Performing Arts Center. She is in her first year of seminary school working on additional degrees that will enhance her work in church leadership and church planting.
She has set as a spiritual priority the deliberate focus of sharing more with others the ultimate sacrifice. She is an active member of the Evangelism and Foreign Missions Ministries having taught in Pignon, Haiti and served as a team member in a medical and evangelism trip to Accra, Ghana that included several surrounding settlements and towns. She is thankful to have been able to share on this trip God’s love and good news of the gospel with our Muslim brothers and sisters. She has been trained as a disaster clean-up team member having served in tornado relief efforts in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Originally from Falcon, she graduated from Oak Grove High School in Rosston, and received an undergraduate business degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Her business career opportunities progressed from a credit representative with then Sears Roebuck and Company, a department manager with the Kmart Corporation and later her most rewarding years as the Administrative Assistant/Office Manager for the Arkansas Education Association. She had an intrinsic role within the association’s efforts to work for a great public school for every student.
She is a graduate of Roddy E. Collins School of Ministry. She has served as a Bible Study Facilitator, Group leader with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) International Classes, and a trained mentor with the Step Ministries in North Little Rock.
She considers her relationship with her family and her friends as one of the greatest earthly blessings.
She is married to Willie Jones and they have two daughters, two sons, a son-in-law, six grandsons and one granddaughter.
