UAT offers certificate in Industrial Technology

TEXARKANA – The University of Arkansas Texarkana will offer a Certificate of Proficiency in Industrial Technology – Multi-Craft option beginning this fall. The 13 credit hour program is designed to put students to work in just months.

Industrial machinery mechanics, maintenance workers, and millwrights are in demand. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of machinery mechanics, maintenance workers, and millwrights is projected to grow 7 percent from now to 2026. The need to keep increasingly sophisticated machinery functioning and efficient will continue to create demand for these workers. The median hourly wage for machinery mechanics, maintenance workers, and millwrights in 2017 was $24.25 per hour.
