Theodore Gilmore

The angels of the Lord our God came July 11, 2018 early in the morning hour to take Theodore Gilmore to his new home in the sky.  To be with Him, where he will have no more pain from his cancer; where he can continue his daily worship and praise with his Heavenly Father, our God.

Mr. Theodore Gilmore was born March 31, 1952 in Fulton, Arkansas to the union of Otha Williams, Sr. and Eula Finnie.  He was the first-born son of seven sons.

Mr. Gilmore joined church at an early age.  He attended church the Eleventh Street Baptist Church in Texarkana, AR, where he was an usher and in the Brotherhood. He saw many pastors go and many pastors come, but he always kept his trust, faith and belief in God.  He always knew God was the head of his life.

He attended high school at the Washington High School in Texarkana, AR.  Later in life, he had many jobs, but the one he chose to stay with was at P.A.M Transportation Corporation, where he was a truck driver for 28 years. He received many awards and with great joy he trained many students and made them truck drivers.  He was loved BY ALL.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Mrs. Brenda Gilmore for 38 loving years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Otha Williams, Sr.; biological father, Charles Warner; sister, Beverly Warner; two brothers, Sandy Williams and Author Ray Williams; father-in-law, Billy Bradley; two sisters-in-law, Debra Williams and Marilyn Williams.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mrs. Brenda Gilmore of Hope; one daughter, Lisa Jenkins of Texarkana, AR; two grandchildren, Brandon LaKeith Jenkins of Texarkana, TX and Naya LaSha Jenkins of Texarkana, AR; six great-grandchildren, Braylon, Aubrey, Landon, Adyn, Naomi and Cambria; his mother, Eula Finnie of Texarkana, TX; brothers, Terry Williams (Judy)of Texarkana, TX, Wayne Williams of Texarkana,TX, Otha Williams, Jr. of Texarkana, AR, Robert Williams of Texarkana, TX, Michael Wayne Warner of Flint, MI; one sister, Elaine Warner of Kalamazoo, MI; mother-in-law, Betty Bradley of Texarkana, AR; seven sisters-in-law, Vickie Howard, Shelley Cummings (Ronnie), Kathy Duke, Betty Bradley, Patricia Neal (Sammie), Marsha Flenory (Vincent), Wanda Williams of Texarkana, AR; a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4-6pm Tuesday at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, July 18 at Eleventh Street Baptist Church, 1101 Laurel Street, Texarkana, Arkansas.  Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Hope.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
