Hope has seen several days of extremely hot temperatures in July with only showers to offer relief.  Out of 25 days recorded so far at the official weather station at the Southwest Research and Extension Center has recorded four days of 100 degree temperatures.  Two days recorded extreme highs with July 20th recording 104 degrees and July 21st seeing 105 degrees.  Temperatures over the past few days have been in the mid to upper 90’s.  Rainfall remains the same since the last report.  Six days have seen recorded rainfall with the amount received so far this month at 1.12 inches.  The regular tally for July is 3.65 inches which means if there are no more showers this month the rainfall will be 2.53 inches below normal.  Year to date rainfall is 33.50 inches compared to an average at the end of July of 31.86 inches which means Hope is officially up 1.64 inches so far this year.
