Four arrested on variety of charges

PRESCOTT – On Monday, September 10, Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Hughes received information that a wanted subject was in route to the church located on State Hwy 299 near State Hwy 53.

Deputy Hughes observed a vehicle parked at the church and pulled in to check the occupants. As Deputy Hughes pulled into the parking lot a black male exited the passenger rear and fled on foot. K-9 Deputy Jeremy Hendrix arrived on scene and was able to take the black male into custody. The black male was identified as Jeremy Wingfield from Rosston. Wingfield showed to have valid warrants for his arrest.

Deputy Hughes along with other officers with the 8th North Task Force made contact with the operator of the vehicle identifying him as Jamal Loudermill from Waldo. Officers observed an odor of what is known to be marijuana emitting from within the vehicle. All occupants were asked to exit the vehicle at this time. Task Force Officers conducted a search of the vehicle locating several baggies that contained a clear off white substance believed to methamphetamine. A small amount of a green leafy substance was located along with drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle.

Wingfield was arrested for fleeing, misdemeanor warrant along with a felony warrant out of Columbia County.

Loudermill was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 17 year old W/M juvenile occupant of the vehicle was placed under arrest on a warrant for residential burglary and theft of property.

A 17 year old W/F juvenile was also placed in custody for hindering apprehension.

All suspects were transported to the Nevada County Detention facility to await first appearance.
