Friends of NRA banquet Saturday

PRESCOTT – For gun enthusiasts and fans of the Second Amendment, the Potlatch Building at the Nevada County Fairgrounds is the place to be Saturday.

The annual Piney Woods Friends of the NRA will again be holding its annual banquet at this time with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m. A memorial will be made to Cyril Stewart, a long-time organizer of the banquet who died last year.

This year’s gun of the year set is the Kimber Custom II .45 ACP and Silver Stag knife. They come with a display case and matching grips. NRA exclusives available include: a Sig Sauer P320RX 9mm; Diamondback DB10 .308 rifle; Henry lever action shotgun, .410 guage; Colt Cobra doubleĀ  action .38 special; a Cricket precision .22lr rifle; and a Weatherby 7mm-08 Vanguard women’s rifle..

There will also be several package deals. For $100, the package includes a chance on five guns, including the early bird, three blue ticket guns and one white ticket bucket gun, along with other bucket raffle items and dinner for one. The $250 package includes a chance on eight guns, including the early bird special, three blue ticket guns, three red ticket guns, one white bucket gun, other raffle items and dinner for two. The table package includes dinner for eight, eight chances on the early bird gun raffle, the choice of one gun, program and podium recognition, a chance for the three gun state bonus raffle. The three gun raffle includes a Kimber micro two-tone .9mm; Taurus Judge .410./.45 long Colt and a Remington 783 camo ,308 with scope. This year’s early bird special is a Ruger 9mm Luger.

Money raised from the banquet will be used to support shooting sports in schools.
