Cattle Receipts: 1560 Last week: 2088 Last year: 1747
Compared to last week: Market was considerably cheaper due to limited buyer
participation from heavy rain fall in Texas. Front end cattle still had good
demand while the plainer kinds were soft. Feeder steers under 400 lbs 10.00-
15.00 lower, over 400 lbs 3.00-7.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 400 lbs 6.00-
10.00 lower, over 400 lbs 2.00-5.00 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls steady to
1.00 higher.
Supply included 950 feeder calves, 377 yearlings, 25 replacement cows, 189
slaughter cows; 19 slaughter bulls. Feeder supply consisted of 42 percent
English and English crosses; 34 percent Exotic and Exotic crosses; 24 percent
Brahman and Brahman crosses. Feeder supply included 56 percent steers and
bulls; 44 percent heifers. Near 12 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
