Chamber Christmas parade one of biggest in years
PRESCOTT – Monday evening’s Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade was one of the largest in years with around two dozen participants.
The parade started at the Hamilton-Blakely Senior Adult Center, came up Main Street to East Second South, went to the Nevada County Courthouse and ended near Prescott Flowers. The streets were lined in spite of the cold weather. Santa made his first official appearance as well.
At the parade’s conclusion, it was time for Christmas on the Square where the Junior Auxiliary had cookies, hot chocolate and hot cider available. Their table was surrounded as people were doing what they could to get warm. Youngsters performed holiday music on the courthouse steps, while Santa was the main attraction inside the courthouse lobby where children could visit and tell him what they wanted for Christmas this year.
