Columbia County Man In One-Vehicle Wreck In Hempstead County
Multiple fire departments and law enforcement responded to a one-vehicle accident around 10:30am Tuesday January 8 on state highway 355 east of Patmos. A driver in a JVC Landscaping truck from Magnolia apparently lost control of his vehicle and stuck a bridge in the westbound lane. Parts of the truck were in the water and the cab of the vehicle extended over the water from the bridge. The man was alert and talking. His position was stabilized with straps and then he was lifted out of the vehicle using the boom on a large wrecker and placed on a Pafford Ambulance stretcher. The Patmos VFD responded and a Hope ladder truck was also called to the scene. Law enforcement on hand included the state police from Troop G and the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department.
