Mr. Don Hamilton, age 64 of Texarkana, Texas, formerly of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Monday January 21, 2019 in Texarkana. Mr. Hamilton was born in Hope, Arkansas July 1, 1954 to James Alvin Hamilton and Ruth Elizabeth McCorkle Hamilton. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Dean Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton graduated from Hope High School in 1972 and went on to attend Southern Arkansas University, where he graduated in 1980 with a degree in Agriculture Business. He worked for Reliable Life Insurance of Texarkana for 30+ years. He finished his career in insurance working for Brazzel Funeral Homes as a funeral director. He attended the First Baptist Church of Texarkana, Texas, where he was active in his Sunday School class “Blessed Marriage” with his wife Helen. He loved being outdoors; hunting and fishing, spending time with family, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed helping others and always gave his all in his work and life.

His survivors include his wife, Helen Bell Hamilton of Texarkana, Texas. Two sons; Daniel Hamilton and Kyla of Hope, Arkansas and Adam Hamilton and Courtney of Hope, Arkansas. Two daughters; Emily Davis and Kelly of Blevins, Arkansas and Jacquelyn Bell of Texarkana, Texas. One brother; Thomas Richard “Dick” Hamilton and Jo of Hope, Arkansas. Five grandchildren; Logan Cox, Kennedy Hamilton, Karson Hamilton, Gavin Osborne and Gunner Davis.

Services will be held January 24, 2019 at 11:00am in the chapel at Brazzel Oakcrest Funeral Home with Brother Larry Sims and Barry Haynes officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to service.
