Two arrested on drug charges

PRESCOTT – On Wednesday, January 23, Deputy Bo Morris who is also a 8th North Task Force Officer observed a vehicle being operated by a subject he knew to have a suspended drivers license. Deputy Morris checked and confirmed that the operator license were still suspended.

Deputy Morris made a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of West Main and 3rd Street in Prescott.

Contact was made with the operator identified as Christina Walraven from Rosston, and passenger identified as Nick Mahaney.

A search of the vehicle Walraven was operating was conducted locating drug paraphernalia and an small amount of a white crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Both subjects were arrested and were transported to the Nevada County Detention facility. Nick Mahaney was found to have methamphetamine on his person after arriving at the jail facility.

Christina Walraven was charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia (two counts).

Nick Mahaney was charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia (three counts) and for furnishing prohibited article to a jail facility.
