Crawfish boil May 16

PRESCOTT – This year’s Crawfish Boil will feature more than just boiled mudbugs.

According to Jamie Hillery, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, boiled and peeled shrimp will also be on the menu. The boil will be held from 4-7 p.m. on May 16, at the Farmer’s Market Pavilion.

A small plate of mudbugs, or 1.5 pounds, will be $10, while a large plate, 3 pounds, will be $20. Shrimp plates will be $22 per pound and all plates contain corn and potatoes.

Diners can either enjoy their meals under the pavilion, or get them to go. once gain, the meal will be prepared by Lagniappe Specialty Meats of Texarkana. For more information or tickets call, 870-887-2101.

Hillery said the crawfish boil last year saw 400 pounds of mudbugs sold with people still coming to get them. This year, 600 pounds of crawfish will be brought to be cooked, along with the shrimp.
