Dorothy Naumann

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” G. Naumann, age 81 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, April 30, 2019.

Although Dot had no children of her own, she was every kid’s dream Aunt who was always seeking fun and adventure with her gaggle of nieces and nephews who spent weeks on end with her every summer. She would take them on trail rides; sailing, canoeing, and jet skiing on DeGray Lake, and on numerous camping trips on the Little Missouri River. Those adventures with Aunt Dot will forever be cherished.

The indelible imprint that she made on the lives of those around her extends beyond her nieces and nephews to the patrons and employees of her restaurants, the children she taught as a substitute teacher, and the lifelong friends she made participating on bowling and softball teams. Her boundless love was also generously given to her dogs, cats, horses, cows and chickens, all which she named.

Dot was a devout Catholic. She was an active member of Our Lady of Good Hope for the more than 30 years. She took on many volunteer duties at Our Lady of Good Hope including altar society, liturgist, CCE teacher, Eucharistic minister, and food pantry deliverer. She did what many people only hope to achieve — she daily exemplified her values of family, God, and country. Her legacy is role modeling how to live fearlessly with purpose and passion. She is proceeded in death by her parents E. Carlton Guillot and K. Dorothy Cook and her brother, Carlton Guillot, Jr.

Those blessed to call her Aunt include Carlton Guillot, III and his wife Carlys; Maurice Grundy Guillot; and Catherine Guillot Blaum, as well as Lynn Shoennauer, Theodore Gammon, Richard Gammon, Stephanie Gammon, Shanna Naumann Coleman, Shawn Naumann Stevens, Shelly Naumann Bond, Karen Naumann, Michael Naumann, and John Naumann.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bennette and his wonderful staff at Hospice of Texarkana for their outstanding care of our beloved Aunt.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Our Lady of Good Hope in Hope, Arkansas in Dot’s name.
