Seniors honored at awards ceremony
PRESCOTT – Seniors at Prescott High School had their achievements recognized at the senior award ceremony Thursday morning.
The event was held in the Prescott Sports Arena where six were recognized as being highest honors and 12 being named honor graduates.
From there scholarships were presented, with Jamie Hillery, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce presenting scholarships from the Arkansas lottery to several students, and awarding two seniors Chamber scholarships.
James Stayton presented the scholarships for the Rotary Club and the Ricardo Young Memorial Scholarship. Quintin Radford handed out the Eugene Forhell Memorial Scholarship, with Betty Formby giving out the James H. McKenzie Scholarship. Penny Lynch presented 10 seniors scholarships from the Prescott Lions Club, with Kathryn Wiley handing out the Dorothy Odom Memorial Scholarship. Pat Roberts presented the Ila Upchurch and Kiwanis Club Scholarship.
College scholarships were also presented to several students.
