PRESCOTT – Fans of crawfish, rejoice.

It’s time for the 5th Annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce’s Crawfish and Shrimp Boil. The boil will again be held at the Farmer’s Market pavilion with Lagniappe Specialty Meats of Texarkana doing the cooking.

The event will be held Thursday, May 16, from 4-7 p.m. Advance orders can be made by calling the Chamber at 870-887-2101. Patrons can eat under the pavilion or get their mudbugs and shrimp to go as carryout is available.

The price of the crawfish remains the same, $10 for a small plate, roughly 1.5 pounds of crawfish; and $20 for a large plate, or three pounds. The shrimp will be boiled and peeled and will cost $22 per pound. All meals come with corn and potato.

So far, the event has sold out early every year. Those planning to feast on crawfish and/or shrimp need to either order early or show up shortly after it starts.
