Farmer’s market open Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon

WASHINGTON – The Old Washington Farmers’ Market will be open from 8am to noon this Saturday June 1st. The market is located behind Washington City Hall across from Williams Tavern Restaurant in Washington, Arkansas. Come out and support your local farmers and get locally grown produce.

Vendors at the market include: Arnold Farm of DeAnn with new potatoes, onions, garlic, green beans and English cucumbers and sweet crunchy salad cumbers; Pam Garringer of Washington with farm fresh eggs, oatmeal cookies, brownies, zinnia pants, marigold plants, four o’clock plants, Hosta, luffa gourd plants, pomegranate trees, and orange trees; Wildflowers of Washington with yellow squash, zucchini, sugar snap peas, onions, cumbers and jars of local honey; Peggy Carrigan of Ozan with assortment of sweet breads and pies; Aunt Fern from Ozan with her famous fried pies; Joseph Barry of Washington with painted flower pots; and Field Farms with potted veggie plants and herbs.  Come out early to get first picks of produce for it will go fast.  Be sure to also sign up for the give away basket.
