Matt J. Cox

Matt J. Cox, 67, of Hope, AR passed away June 11, 2019 at Hospice of Texarkana, TX. Peacefully in his sleep and gained his angel wings.

Mr. Cox was born February 21, 1952 in Lodi, CA and resided in Arkansas for many years. After graduating high school, he joined the army and did a tour in Vietnam.

He worked at Klipsch for 16 years and then at the sawmill in Emmet, where he retired. He loved his family, Jesus, life and people. He enjoyed telling jokes, hearing a good joke and watching jeopardy- which he answered almost every question correctly.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rufus J.W. Cox and Frances Pauline Taliaferro; two brothers, James Cox and William Glen Cox.

Matt is survived by four sisters, Barbara Biddle Peek, Sadie Bradford & Chris, Martha Cox and Frances “Fran” Stout all of Hope.

Per Matt’s wishes, there will be a small memorial where everyone can say their final goodbyes. He donated his body to science to help others.
