HCHS meets June 25
HOPE – The Hempstead County Historical Society will be holding a meeting on Tuesday evening June 25, 2019 at the Presbyterian Church in Washington, Arkansas at 7pm. Everyone is welcome. The guest speaker for the evening will be presented by Jonathan Canaday, a board member of the Howard County Historical Society. Canaday is the news director for radio stations KMTB 99.5 and KNAS 105.5 in Nashville. He will give a presentation on the history of Nashville, Arkansas’ Main Street, with both archived photos and modern photos of remaining historical elements. Nashville was originally part of the Mine Creek township of northwest Hempstead County until Howard County was formed in the 1873.
The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County. Come and share your history with us.
