| On May 31, Deputy Bo Morris was patrolling the area of US 278 near Rosston. Deputy Morris observed a black male walking down the side of the road known to him to be Jeremy Wingfield. It was known to Deputy Morris that Wingfield had a valid felony warrant at the time. Deputy Morris attempted to make contact with Wingfield. Wingfield fled on foot and entered a residence. Wingfield was later removed from the residence and was charged with possession of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Wingfield was also served with warrants and holds placed on him out of Ouachita County and Hope Police Department. On Saturday, June 1, at approximately 2:22 A.M. Deputy Jeremy Hendrix and Bo Morris were dispatched to the 600 block of Nevada 48 South. Information given to the deputies was that an individual identified as Mason McCorkle was inside the residence threatening to harm himself with a handgun. McCorkle was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons due to the fact McCorkle had previously been committed to a mental facility. On Friday, June 7, at 11:30 A.M. Chief Deputy Larry Miller was dispatched to the 3100 block of Highway 355 in reference to a breaking or entering and theft of property. Contact was made with the victim identified as Joey Jones. Jones stated that he four saddles missing along with a garden tiller. Further investigation showed a suspect identified as Bryson Leblanc. Leblanc was later contacted with two saddles taken from his possession. Leblanc was charged with breaking or entering and for theft of property. On Friday, June 7, Deputy Bo Morris and Jeremy Hendrix were conducting an investigation into a residential burglary that had taken place in April. During this investigation information received that Ryan Cox and Colton Gierth were suspects in the burglary. While in route back to the residence for another possible burglary, Deputy Morris received information that the suspects were in a red GMC pickup. Deputy Morris made contact with the vehicle and identified the operator as Gierth. Contact was made with the individuals and further investigation was conducted leading to the arrest of both suspects. Gierth and Ryan both were charged with residential burglary. On Wednesday, June12, Chief Deputy Larry Miller and Investigator Robert Missey were dispatched to the 300 hundred block of Nevada 225 in reference to a domestic battery. During the investigation Ashley Huett was arrested for domestic battery. Huett was transported to the Nevada County detention facility and charged for the incident. On Thursday, June 13, Deputy Bo Morris received a call of a suspicious vehicle located at a residence near US 371 and State Hwy 53. Upon arrival contact was made with the vehicle and the operator identified as Frankie Wheat. Deputy Morris was aware that Wheat had a valid warrant of arrest at the time. Wheat was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search of the vehicle Deputy Morris located a plastic baggie with an off-white substance believed to be methamphetamine. Wheat was transported to the Nevada County Detention facility where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. On Friday, June 14, Deputy Bo Morris made a traffic stop on a 1991 red Ford Fiesta on West Main in Prescott. Deputy Morris noticed an odor of what is known to him to be associated with marijuana coming from within the vehicle. The operator identified as Keith Jones admitted there was marijuana inside of the vehicle at the time. Deputy Morris conducted a search of the vehicle finding a glass smoking pipe on the passenger side of the vehicle. Deputy Morris also located a plastic baggie with and off-white substance believed to be methamphetamine in item belonging to the passenger Brittany Otis. Both Jones and Otis were placed in custody and were transported to the Nevada County Detention facility. Jones was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and Otis was charged with possession of a controlled substance. On Saturday, June 15, K-9 Deputy Jeremy Hendrix made a traffic stop on a silver Honda Civic at the 48-mile marker on Interstate 30. K-9 Hendrix conducted an investigation into the stop and a search was conducted of the vehicle. K-9 Hendrix located several mushrooms plants in the vehicle and later found that the operator Matthew Jefferson was in possession of several different type pills. Jefferson was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated and was turned over to the Nevada County Detention facility On Monday, June 17, at approximately 1:43 A.M. Nevada County Sheriff’s Department were notified that Hope Police Department were in pursuit of a vehicle traveling East on Interstate 30. K-9 Deputy Jeremy Hendrix, Deputy Bo Morris and Deputy Justin Hughes responded to the call. After the vehicle exited the interstate at Exit 46 Nevada County Deputies took lead in the pursuit. The vehicle traveled into Prescott on Highway 19 and stopped at a residence on Greenlawn Street in Prescott. Operator Leticia Chavarria was taken into custody. During the arrest Chavarria assaulted Deputies several times and after being transported to the Nevada County Detention facility Chavarria assaulted a detention officer. Chavarria was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusing a breath test, two counts of second degree battery, felony fleeing, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and impairing the operation of a detention facility. On Thursday, June 20, Deputy Bo Morris was patrol in the area of Highway 67 near Emmet. Deputy Morris made a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle for speeding 65-45 mph. During the stop Deputy Morris found that the license plates displayed on the vehicle were fictitious. Deputy Morris conducted a search of the vehicle finding a homemade smoking pipe in the operator’s purse. Operator Crystal Esada was placed under arrest for the paraphernalia and was transported to the Nevada County Detention facility for the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. On Sunday, June 23, K-9 Deputy Jeremy Hendrix made a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle on State Highway 24 East. The stop was made due to the vehicle speeding 73-55 mph. K-9 Hendrix made contact with the operator and observed an odor known to him to be marijuana emitting from the vehicle. K-9 Hendrix requested the female operator exit the vehicle and questioned her in reference to the odor he had detected. The operator identified as Brittney Mitchell handed K-9 Hendrix a marijuana vapor pen from her person at the time. Mitchell was charged with speeding and for possession of a controlled substance. On Friday, June 28, Deputy Bo Morris was traveling down East Main Street when he observed a passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed confirmed by radar as 76-35 mph. Deputy Morris identified the vehicle as a Beige Hyundai Elantra and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled East on Main street passing a vehicle and then turned onto East Elm. The vehicle came to a stop and contact was made with the operator. Deputy Morris noticed an odor of an intoxicating substance on the operator identified as Chance Adkins. Adkins was asked to perform several field sobriety test in which he attempted but failed. Chance Adkins was placed under arrest at this time. Chance Adkins was transported to the Nevada County Detention facility where he was later found to have a marijuana vape pen on his person. Adkins was charged with felony fleeing by vehicle, driving while intoxicated, careless and prohibited driving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Saturday, June 29, Deputy Bo Morris made a traffic stop at the 44-mile marker on interstate 30 on a 2016 Dodge Dart bearing Texas license. The stop was made due to the vehicle traveling below posted speed limit and weaving out of its lane. Contact was made with the operator identified as Tyeshia Gibson. During the contact with the operator Deputy Morris observed an odor known to him to be associated with marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Deputy Morris advised the operator of the odor he had detected and requested the passenger exit the vehicle. Deputy Morris conducted a search of the vehicle locating several pills believed to be Ecstasy, a plastic baggie with white powder believe to be cocaine. Both the operator Tyeshia Gibson and passenger Arlena Horsley were placed under arrest and were transported to the Nevada County Detention facility. Gibson was found to be in possession on her person of drug paraphernalia and marijuana before entering the facility. Gibson was charged with driving on a suspended license, careless driving, possession of a controlled substance schedule VI, possession of a controlled substance Schedule II, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Horsley was charged with possession of a controlled substance schedule I, possession of a controlled substance schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia. On June 29, Deputy Bo Morris served a parole warrant on Brandy Hughes. |
