Watermelon Weigh-Off – Hope Prescott

HOPE- Due to weather this year the Hope Watermelon crops struggled, but still supplied large watermelons for this years watermelon weigh-off. Three watermelons were entered in this year’s competition.

Mr. Don Worthy was the auctioneer for the watermelons after the weigh in. Clay Lance served as the Chairman for the event getting the weight of each melon. This event was sponsored by Secur Storage, First States Insurance, and DB Audio and Electronics.

Watermelon weighing 56 pounds sold for $70 to Chris Thompson.

Watermelon weighing 55 pounds sold for $35 to the Reed Camp Family.
