United Way Agency Spotlight, ROC
With vital support from the United Way of Hempstead County,Rainbow of Challenges, Inc. provides opportunities for exceptional children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southwest Arkansas.
United Way funding has helped open doors for ROC individuals to play important roles in the community. One adult works for a national pizza establishment, a group of individuals work for a large commercial bakery while two others work at local grocery stores. Several are involved with local civic groups, one sits on the ROC Board of Directors, and one has been named “Citizen of the Year” for work as a community volunteer. Our success stories are limitless, thanks to assistance from the United Way. As we celebrate our 50th year of service, our mission remains “Discovering opportunities that inspire lives. Whatever it takes!”.
The support of the United Way is beneficial in creating lasting improvements not only to the individuals at ROC, but to agencies which represent thousands of people in Hempstead County. The United Way is improving education, financial stability and health for individuals andsurrounding communities. However, the job can’t be completed alone. The United Way works with 2.8 million volunteers and 9.8 million donors, providing a platform to make a bigger, deeper difference. Please support the United Way with your time and donations. Change doesn’t happen without you.
