Courthouse square packed for annual Fall Festival
PRESCOTT – Saturday was perfect fall day for a festival.
The day was bright and crisp, warming up to the mid-60s later in the afternoon. The weather couldn’t have been better for a fall festival.
Vendors arrived early to set up their booths and got plenty of foot traffic throughout the day. Children of all ages played and had fun. The older children participated in the afternoon’s waterball fight between emergency service personnel, while the younger ones played 3-on-3 basketball and shot hoops.
A petting zoo was on hand, and proved to be popular as patrons got to pet rabbits, a raccoon and possum. As to the services and goods offered by the vendors, there was pretty much something for everyone, ranging from hot soup to homemade knives.
The first event of the morning was the annual 5K run/walk, which ended less than 20 minutes after it started. There were plenty of games and contests, including a cake walk and Bunco tournament. Along with this, there were tons of information booths.
South Down Main entertained the crowd shortly after 1 p.m. Patrons and vendors were there till the bitter end as the festival concluded at 4 p.m.
