Who among us hasn’t wished they could be part of a live audience during the taping of a television show – especially if we know the host, went to school with him, or watched him grow up?  That wish can come true, thanks to the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council.  SWAAC will host a motorcoach tour to attend a taping of Huckabee, starring Hope’s own Mike Huckabee, on November 15 in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

The motorcoach will depart the Hope Depot on Thursday, November 14, and return on Saturday, November 16.  The depot is located at 100 Division Street in Hope.

Governor Huckabee, a 1973 graduate of Hope High School, is a successful TV talk show host who served as Arkansas’s 44thGovernor from 1996-2007.  He announced his second campaign to seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States on May 5, 2015, in Hope.  He speaks often about his formative years in Hope and continues to be connected to Hope, Texarkana, and Southwest Arkansas.    He is an avid musician and enjoys hunting and fishing..

Governing Magazine named Mike Huckabee as one of its “Public Officials of the Year” for 2005 and Time Magazine honored him as one of the five best governors in America.  He has been honored by numerous organizations for his commitment to music education.  He served as the chairman of the prestigious National Governors Association, as well as the Education Commission of the States, the Southern Governors Association, and the Interstate Oil and Gas Commission.  He is also a New York Times bestselling author, former host of the number one weekend show on the Fox News Channel, and a longtime radio commentator.

In addition to the taping of Huckabee, the trip will include a hop-on tour of area Hendersonville attractions; Lunch in Memphis, Tennessee; and other attractions in northeast Arkansas.  Cost of the three-day adventure is $550 for double occupancy, $400 for single occupancy, and includes transportation, lodging and tickets to Huckabee.
