Elm St. filled with heroes, villains and dinosaurs
PRESCOTT – Elm Street was filled with youngsters ready for Halloween as they were dressed in their finest costumes.
There were several Jokers, dinosaurs and superheroes with a mix of monsters, cowboys and cowgirls and some who couldn’t be described. The one thing they had in common was the desire for Halloween candy.
The trick or treaters went from station to station getting goodies put into their bags.
However, the highlight of the frigid evening was the Halloween Costume Contest, held on the courthouse steps.
The infant division, 0-11 months, was won by Rhett Doucet, the Pillsbury Doughboy, with Sincere Box, a lion, second.
In the 12-23 month category, Delilah Ray, dressed as Red Riding Hood, took the top spot with Ava Williams and Alexa Block second and third respectively, both dressed as Minnie Mouse.
For those in the 2-3 division, Dexter Ratcliff, aka Buzz Lightyear, was the winner, with Rural McKelvy, a dinosaur, second, and Evelyn Ortiz, a cowgirl, third.
Iiyah Johnson ran, or rather, flew, away with first place for those four and five years old as she was dressed as Santa with one of his reindeer. Kylee Henderson, dressed as Jesse from Toy Story, was second, with Corbyn Tillman, who got into character as Chucky, was third.
Kayden Smith took the top spot for the six and eight year olds as the Joker, while Natalie Bullet was second as a deer and Olivia Simmons third as Cruella DeVille.
The final division, for those 9-10, saw Elise Meador take first place, with Brodyn Richardson second and Hannah Mosely third.
Everyone had fun, aside from being cold as the temperature dropped steadily throughout the evening.
