Hope High School representatives to the Beyond Civility program of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute of the University of Arkansas System have organized a Beyond Civility Club to bring the collaborative culture concept to the HHS campus. Faculty sponsor HHS Counselor Varonica Kennedy directed the meeting as the group began to plan public service projects and events for the spring semester. Organizing members include ninth grade students Kendrien Piggee, Javion Hunter and Za’Kiah Randle, 10th grade students Ammorrion Dempsey, Richard Ware, Diego Ortiz, and Justin Armstrong, and 11th grade students Brook Hunt, Ke’Ara Key, and Monzerratt Leija. Each of the students attended the Beyond Civility workshop at the Winrock Institute near Monticello in November. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
