Emmet holiday parade draws big crowd for Santa Claus

EMMET – The 26th Annual Emmet Christmas Parade sponsored by Emmet Vision Association (EVA) welcomed along with the Mayor of Emmet, Mayor Dale Booker another great crowd for the parade and meeting back down at the Chuck Wagon for refreshments and visiting with Santa. 

Along with Santa were the Grinch and Cindy Lou Hoo.  Jewel Allen also gave another EVA award to Kawana and Billy Jones for their dedication to helping over the years in EVA.
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Department headed off the parade along with Mayor of Emmet Dale Booker. One of the city workers Juan Aparicio pulled a large hay trailer with large tractor riding on it, Charlie and Isic Keen, Jaden and Devin January and Lisa Aparicio.
There were several driving four-wheelers as well.  On their ATVs were Ashley, Remi and Eric Lowe. Shelby Hall and John Baker. Andrew Hamilton. Jason and Linda Hamilton.  Logan Graham and Preston Newton.

Emmet’s Fire truck #18 – Robert Harden, Randy Peck, Klyde Harden, Troy and Joe Harden.
Emmet’s Fire truck #14- Kevin Reed, Isaiah Reed and Kylan Scott.
Nevada County Rescue  and Willisville Rescue truck.
Emmet #13 – Alexander Estrada, Jasmine Estrada, Cheyanne Taylor, Matthew Henson, Assistant Chief Jesus Estrada Emmet VFD.
EVA’s float – Aleya Roquemore, Teresa Stoffer, Jacob Stoffer, Hunter Stoffer, Nathaniel Stoffer, Bentley Stoffer, Tracy Ditzler, Brandon Hull, Aaron Case, Starla Case, Zoie Case, Aaron Jr. Case and Hope West.
Santa had a different sleigh this year instead of reindeer Santa’s sleigh was driven by Dennis Dougan and Toby Trusty and three-year-old Isabella Trusty… and…. the Grinch (Justin Wilson) and Cindy Lou Hoo (Abbey Dougan).
A big appreciation to all who came and helped make another year super.

The Chuck Wagon filled up in a hurry as well with the EVA giving out cookies, punch and hot chocolate. Santa was also on hand to hear what the children want for Christmas and to give them a toy each. This year, Santa was given a present because he’s been good all year, too.
