PRESCOTT – To date, less than 50 percent of the residents in Nevada County have filled out and returned their census forms.

According to information presented by Mary Godwin, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development Office, 49.5 percent of county residents have filled out their census forms, while the state rate is at 55.2 percent.

Bluff Cit remains the lowest for submitting the forms at 35.7 percent. Bodcaw has the highest return rate at 51.8 percent. Oak Grove is at 5.2 percent while 50 percent of Cale residents have submitted their forms. Prescott is at 49.2 percent, with Rosston at 48.6 percent while Willisville is at 41.1 percent. Emmet’s figure is 38.5 percent.

It’s important to fill out and return the forms as this is how the amount of turnback money the county gets is determined. It also affects the county’s ability to get grants.

The forms are simple and ask no personal questions. It only takes a few minutes to fill them out. Anyone having trouble with their forms, or who hasn’t received one can contact the EDO at 870-887-6208 or the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce at 870-887-2101. Either of these offices can help, or fill out and submit the forms for residents without access to the internet.
