County GOP meets

PRESCOTT – Nevada County’s Republican Committee met at the Nevada County Library on Sept. 15 with Iverson Jackson the featured speaker.

Jackson, a candidate for state party chair, wants to have an outreach to those who believe in the GOP’s values and platforms but vote otherwise, along with getting members to work together for a better Arkansas. According to a release from the NCRC, Jackson was impressed with Trump, saying he believes the president is “sincerely working for black American lives’ improvements.”

Jackson, according to a release, is a Lt. Col. (retired) in the U.S. Army Reserves, deputy brigade commander of the 95th Division, and chair of the UALR military science department. He is also the vice president of STAND (Staying True to America’s National Destiny), chair of the African American Coalition of the GOP in Arkansas, and serves on the Southern Arkansas University Foundation Board.

He is a 1985 graduate of SAU with a degree in Business  Administration, has been marred to his wife, Mary, almost 30 years. They have three adult daughters, India, Kharizma and Makala, and currently live in Little Rock.
